Welcome and thank you for visiting Sweet Home Chicago Antiques! This vase is an advanced collector's treasure. These pieces haven't been produced for nearly a century now, and they are becoming more scarce on the antiques market.I'm attributing this vase to Thomas Webb's English glass house. The theme is consistent with many of Webb's artistic contributions, as is the the number fired on to the foot (see photo).The theme is an aquatic setting with a large water bug scooting amongst the lily pads. Webb was a master in creating beautiful Aesthetic Movement pieces, and this elegant vase is no exception.The only thing I've been able to find is a small "chink" in the water bug's armor, which I have shown in a closeup photo. I always expect to find something with pieces of this antiquity, so I was relieved to find only this.T are no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. T appears to be light wear to the gilt on the body. The ruffled crest may have had a gilt trim. If so, that is no longer present. T is what looks to be a trapped bubble (not burst) between the cased glass. Because it isn't burst, you can't feel it. The peach coloring spread from the bubble as expected when it was being blown. When I photographed this area to show you, my flash "washed" out the peachblow coloring.
