I have for auction a working Webster-Chicago wire recorder (Low Volumn) probably bad amplifier tube. I started it this morning and the volumn was low but worked and the rewind spool needed to have some weight to keep it moving up and down. The volumn was clipped at higher volumns so I think the amplifier tube is getting weak. I have had this recorder since 1972. It has the electrical schematic and assembly picture paper with it. t are 2 reels with it and one pick up reel along with the power cord. I have lost the mike someplace over the years so it is not available.It's in general good conditon with some corner damage on the canvas and has never been wet, has no mold on it anyw and it has no odors since it is from a smoke free home. This is really a great conversation piece and many people haven't seen one. This unit is probably from the 50's since that is when iron oxide tape started to come along.
