This is an exquisite and beautiful Wedgwood Fine Bisque Porcelain figurine, finely sculpted and hand painted One of a Limited Edition collection series called "The Fashionable Victorians, a tribute to the age of elegance" commissioned by Spink England c.1989 This figurine is entitled "The Turn of the Century Ball" "The figurine depicts our lady of fashion in a superb ballgown for her attendance at the final event of a century of achievement and progress. The soft skirt falls in cascades of the most delicate shades of pink. The bodice is layered with lace and the bouffant sleeves are beautifully cut and draped to fall elegantly from the elbow. The train of her dress, in the palest of jonquil tints, swirls around her as she moves elegantly forward. Both dress and train are decorated with pink roses. The total ensemble is stunning for its graceful lines and subtlety of colouring, creating a gown perfect for one of the greatest social events of the century. No detail has been overlooked - the pearls, the locket, the golden mask, the flower in her hair, all give those small yet important touches that make this a figurine to be sought after" She stands approx. 8" (20 cms) high It is in an excellent, displayed condition There is no Certificate but we will include a photocopy of an original order form (see photo) and letter from Spink read more
