Wedgwood England/Metropolitan Museum of Art reproduction of a bowl from Liverpool before 1800 commemorating the independence of the United States. Round footed bottom. Sailing ship image inside at bottom, black/white cameo scenes inside along top, and cameo scenes on body incuding George Washington and "Virtue and Valor" scene. Measures 3-1/2" tall x 7-7/8" diameter at top. Marked on bottom, "Wedgwood of Etruria and Barlaston, Made in England," and "The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Reproduction by Wedgwood for American Heritage. Bowl Commemorating The Independence of the United States, Liverpool, Before 1800," and "Engraved by the Wedgwood Studios." This is a used piece and shows visible signs of wear and use. No chips or cracks, but visible scuff marks and scratches inside and out, consistent with moderate use and handling, and visible scuffing to bottom side bottom ring rim of foot.Please feel free to ask us any questions you like before you bid or buy.
