CLASSIC SCI-FI TITLE FROM 1953 FELDSTEIN COVER AND ART TEAM UP ART BY KRENKELAND WILLIAMSON ART BY ELDER AND WOOD After the War ended, comic sales started to drop. More specifically, superheroes as a genre began to drop. Publishers looked around for something to replace the long-johns. Under the guidance of Max Gaines, had a history of publishing books such as Picture Stories of the Bible and Pictures Stories of American History. In 1947 Max Gaines died in a boating accident and his son William came in to deal with the family business. William had a slightly different take on the comic industry. Within a year the titles published by EC had begun to move away from the standards established by Max. William was trying to keep a company afloat in a decreasing market. The title was replaced A Moon , A Girl, A Romance with issue #13. It continued the numbering from that title until issue #17. After that it went back and started over with issue #6. With issue #23 it was re-titled Weird Science-Fantasy. The issue offered today is the second #17. It was published in 1953 after they had started the numbering over again. The cover is by Feldstein. He also contributes interior art as do Wood and Elder. The book features the artistic team up of Krenkel and Williamson. It has a house ad for MAD #2 on the inside cover.
