H. G. Wells. A Cure for Love. A Story of the Days to Come. (Anno Domini 2090). New York: E. Scott Company, [circa 1899]. First separate edition, originally published in an 1897 issue of Pall Mall Magazine and two years later in the collection Tales of Space and Time (Harper, 1899) as the first part of Wells's novella "A Short Story of Days to Come." Library of Congress copyright deposit copy, surplus duplicate, one of two received, this one on June 13, 1899. Octavo. 13, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's saddle-stitched binding in original printed wrappers, restored. Wrappers addressed in restoration, once detached from staples at centerfold with several marginal chips to text-block. Staples renewed. Previously good, now a nice sophisticated copy with just some minor soiling and holographic pencil notations to rear panel and lower margin of last page. One of an unknown, but very small, number of copies, with just two others recorded: the copyright deposit copy in the Library of Congress, and one in the University of California system located in the the Northern Regional Library Facility.
