This is a very nice little valve amp from the 70's. I'm selling it on behalf of a local charity shop because they don't get many guitar-playing customers. Valve WEMs are quite sought after and this is a good example of one of the smaller models. I didn't meet the person who donated it to the charity shop so I don't know the amp's history. The parts (valves, speaker etc) all look original to me but I can't guarantee that they are. It's in good condition cosmetically - a little scuffed but good for it's age. It's in good working condition. The design is very simple and everything looks sound. It has two valves - an EL847 and an ECC83/12AX7 preamp valve. One of the valve retainer clips is missing but the valve is perfectly secure without it. The amp is a bit noisy but nothing unusual for a an old valve amp. A couple of times when I've played it there's been a noise mixed with the guitar signal. Both times this was solved by switching off and switching on again and it hasn't happened since. There are no other problems. It's very light - you can carry it with one hand with no problem at all. Now - how it sounds. At low volume the amp sounds OK - definitely a valve sound but a bit boxy. The simple tone controls work well. But turned up it sounds just great - it has a really nice, dirty distortion that evokes early to mid 70s rock - like read more
