Presenting Opera Olivia "Always Shines in the Spotlight" Figurine This is an another in the amazing Licensed Olivia products. This Figurine shows Olivia Singing her Heart out. . .all dressed for the Opera. She stands approximately 4" tall. This is a very fun piece and the design and finish work shows great attention to detail and color. Olivia the Pig was the brainchild of the well know artist, Ian Falconer. When he first started this illustration for creating the character Olivia, is was intended as a Christmas Gift for his niece, also called Olivia. He stated that his niece was a wonderful and charming child, however, she was a very headstrong and imaginative child, who when she was three old could argue her way to achieve anything! Olivia the Pig portrays some of those same characteristics. He continued to work on his illustrations of Olivia, while working on other major projects, and eventually developed it and took his drawings to a Manhatten agency who loved his drawings but felt he should work with a professional writer. A couple of years later Simon and Schuster came calling and asked Ian if he would be interested in doing a Children's Book after seeing his New Yorker work.
