This is a wonderful example of the Adams Co. "Barrow Salt" pictured in their 1891 catalog. See the photo and information in The Open Salt Compendium at Plate 793. All colors including clear are rated "extremely rare." This piece is exactly like the one pictured on the left in the Compendium. It is 4 1/2" long, with the bowl measuring 2" X 1 3/4". Condition is excellent. T are a few tiny chips on the inside edges of the handles and feet, most likely done when the glass was removed from the mold and overfill trimmed. The red you can see on the axle is not rust but red paint or coating on the pewter axle. The wheel is also pewter.Shipping Priority Mail $5.
