Well, I said i'll be done with ebay by the end of the year and I'm going out with a bang. I date this piece 1900-1930, It is not only a fabulous OLD and REAL whirligig, It tells a tale! Suited Gentleman Business man rolls up his sleeves and helps the working man. This piece illustrates the way this country became great, a partnership between the working man and business...and as such is far more than the great old folk art piece it is. Some great folk art tells a tale...this one does. Fully functional, that is, the grindstone turns, the axe grinds, the men work together...a miracle of craftsmanship AND the figures are FAT and THICK. The old painted base is 15" x 11", the well constructed figures are each about 10 inches tall and about 4 inches thick! Big fat folk art men! Crank handle works but t are no blades, i'm not sure it HAD any, I believe the circle at the end was hooked at one time to a strap which turned the figures. At any rate, it's great. MY LAST EBAY LISTINGS GO UP THIS WEEK and will END BY THE NEW YEAR so take advantage of this opportunity.
