Whites of Utica1 Gallon Jug with Pine or Christmas TreeComing to you from Doc's Crocks, America's Source for Antique Stoneware , is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites Utica, N.Y."This is the stamp of Whites Pottery of Utica, New York during the leadership of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).This beauty features the pottery stamp and a Pine Tree or Christmas Tree on the Front Executed with a Continuous Motion of a Slip Cup. All the cobalt is rich and shiny . This is a signature White's decoration. Measures 11 1/2" tall.Very Good Condition . A tight line through the handle near the top (closeup). No spout or base chips, body hairlines or cracks, stains, or restoration. Some roughness on the top of the spout and left side in the making.
