THE BENDIGO FRUIT GROWERS CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD encircling DIGGER BRAND encircling miner panning for gold, reverse: CONTENTS, 30 OZS. Tall (6 ¾ inches), green jar about 3 ¼ inches wide and 6 ¾ inches tall. Collector’s dream: strongly whittled with spirals, glass runs, and thousands of bubbles, some sizable. Wavy stress fracture in lip. Aged, tight fitting modern tin lid. Absolutely perfect (see R. Kameny's description of the jar below.) Not the least bit damaged, not even scratched. No wear on the base, even. Perfect lip and threads. (The fractures beneath the lip are not regarded as damage. They are shallow with no associated ding and almost certainly resulted when the glass was stressed while cooling.) The lid is in perfect condition except for being made to look old.“This jar is the Bendigo Fruitgrowers Co-Operative Society Ltd, Digger Brand fruit and preserving jar, as on slug plate between the lines.
