A pottery sculpture of the interpreted dance of Isadore Duncan, designed in the early part of the 20th century. This artists interpretation of movement & form translates an expressive dance composition boldly & dramatically throughout. The sculpture displays a nude woman dancingsensuously while holding a long draped shawl that seems to embrace her every movement. The figure is painted in a monochromatic white hue that bleeds into the folds of the shawl creating accents of a soft creamy pastel color. This fine & unusual composition reveals the expressive freedom of dance. The base of the piece is marked w/ 2 Ws, transposed one above the other w/ the letter o beneath. This item measures 10 1/4" X 7 1/4". T is crazing throughout the piece but it is certainly not offensive. T is a small (3/16" X 2/16") chip essentially on the undersurface of the extreme left side of the front of the base. T is another even smaller defect shown in the last picture. T have been no repairs to the piece. The buyer is responsible for shipping costs which will be determined @ the close of the auction. Good Luck & Happy Bidding!
