William Henry Harrison: Columbian Star Child's Sugar Bowl from 1840. John Ridgway of Staffordshire, England designed political china and exported it to America for William Henry Harrison's "Log Cabin and Hard Cider" campaign of 1840. His design was called "Columbian Star" and must have proved very popular, as examples in many shapes, sizes and colors regularly appear. They even produced a child's set. While the cup & saucer from this set is fairly common, hollow ware such as this 4" high sugar bowl is not. This example appears to be in perfect condition. Grade: 0, Service No.: 0
