William McKinley (2) Jugate Inaugural Passes for the 1897 and 1901 Ceremonies, with stubs attached admitting the bearer to the Senate Gallery. The 1897 pass is printed in red ink on heavy card stock and measures 8.5" x 4.75", with an allegorical design surrounding images of McKinley and Hobart. Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the card has a small tear along right margin, and a few creases. This is a very scarce and desirable pass as it is identified on the verso as being the "Card of Mrs. Nancy Allison McKinley Mother of William McKinley, President of the United States." The 1901 pass is printed in gray and black tones, and measures 10" x 5". Few spots of foxing and light soiling. This pass was clearly also used by a McKinley family member on the occasion of the inauguration being that it was kept with Kittie Endsley Mathews' mementos and papers. Grade: 0, Service No.: 0
