ITEM: A well potted earthenware coffee set decorated with the classic Willow pattern in vibrant blue, green, yellow, burnt orange and pale turquoise and highlighted in rich stylised gilding throughout. T are four coffee cans and saucers, a charming little cream jug and sugar bowl and an impressive gracefully shaped coffee pot with a high domed lid. MAKER: A.G. HARLEY-JONES - Fenton, Staffordshire - printed backstamps to all pieces with the name of the pattern Old Chinese Willow. DATE: c.1923-34 CONDITION: Overall excellent without chips, cracks or restorations. The gilding has remained bright and almost intact with a little wear to rims of the cups and the handle of the coffee pot, not unsightly. The glaze is in good order with clean very fine intermittant age related crazing only seen on close inspection. DIMENSIONS: POT - 6½ ins spout to handle by 4 ins and 8¼ ins high to the tip of the finial. CREAMER - 3½ lip to handle by 2½ ins and 3 ins high. BOWL - just under 3½ ins across and 2 ins high. CANS - 2¼ ins excluding the handle and 2¼ ins high (one can is marginally shorter). SAUCERS - 5 ins across.
