CHAIR 3 OF now 4 HANDMADE VICTORIAN DINING/KITCHEN CHAIRS The number 3 chair is a Victorian carver. The dimensions are as follows: total height: 92cm total width at the front of seat: 43.5cm total width at the back of seat: 39cm total width of arm rests (widest point): 50cm height of armrests: 69cm(right)/68cm (left) height of seat: 45cm The chair has a shaped seat and is comfortable to sit on. The chair is marked with an "I" and an "M" - I am not sure whether this is a craftman's mark or whether it is a mark of the person who it was made for. The chair is only in fair condition - hence low starting price! The wood is worn, there was some problem with woodworm which was treated, but you can see the holes and you can also see how the wood has been damaged, especially at the back of the backrest at the side of the scroll back details and along the back of either support of the backrest. I have tried to capture this in the photographs as well as I can. The seat shows the lovely wood grain. Please let me know if you have any questions. ABOUT THE CHAIRS We have now 4 chairs left for sale, which have been in the family for a very long time. They used to belong to granddad and we can only go by what he told us about the chairs as we are no experts ourselves. He told us they were Windsor Scrollback Chairs and we think they might be made of Elm wood, but we do not know for sure. In any case the wood shows beautiful wood grain and is very attractive - you can see it on the seats especially. I have taken a lot of photographs and have numbered each chair with a tag so we can tell them apart. Of course you are welcome to bid on all of them or just one. The chairs originate from granddad's collection of antique chairs and have been used in our own house for 20 years. As the family has grown bigger over the years we have finally changed to different chairs so we can all have the same and are selling these - either as a whole lot or one by one..... The condition of the chairs vary. As they are all handmade and are all very old some of them have needed repairing/mending over the years. I will do my very best to point out any possible problems/damage to each individual chair as far as we know it. COLLECTION ONLY - WINDSOR/BERKSHIRE! GOOD TOKNOW: We have 4children; Ebay is a hobby.
