These armchairs are what some describe as fireside armchairs or reading chairs. These were made to order through Stewart & Shacklock of Nottingham, and are described by them as Selkirk chairs. We are informed that they still keep stock of these chairs and they still retail at £1500-£1700.00 each. These are fabulous chairs with real mahogany Queen Anne feet/legs (unlike the mock mahogany plastic legs/feet on Laura Ashley Models). The armchairs comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 and were handmade in the United Kingdom.
