Wolverine 17 fret tenor banjo from Wm. L. Lange's Paramount factory ca. 1925. Branded for Grinnell Bros. Music House, Detroit, MI. Stromberg-like tone ring assembly made of nickle plated brass. Tone ring sits on tubes which pass thru the rim. High quality walnut rim, neck and flush resonator. Mostly identical to Lange's Triple-X style B. Bound fretboard good except some fingerboard wear between frets 12-17. Attractive fretboard inlay. Frets good. Action is good with 3/16" at 12th fret. Hairline crack one side of heel - stable. Original friction tuners work well. Fine workmanship and a good player. Comes with a well-worn chipboard case which provides protection. Please ask questions. No return.
