Up for auction is this fabulous antique Yellow Ware Batter Bowl. This great early heavy pottery bowl with spout has a lovely molded design and footed base. It's a nice size, measuring about 10 1/2" across from spout to other edge, and 4 1/2" high. As shown in the photos, this piece has a wonderful aged patina, showing crazing throughout, with some darkening to the bottom edges of the base and the bottom, and one very very tight hairline on the lip. There are a few common small flaws, one on the spout edge and a few along the bottom edge. There is some wear to the inside of the bowl with a little darkening and a few spots where the glaze is worn off. All adding to its charming primitive look.
