Item: Rare, one of a kind, 66 pc. china set Manufacturer: Henry Alcock & Co. and/or Stanley Pottery, England Pattern: Touraine Description: Beautiful flow blue transferware. Dark blue pattern around the hand painted gold trimmed rim, including a raised pattern underscored with another hand painted gold line. Next is a large floral and leaf pattern. Rim is scalloped. Age: c.1880-1910 Place Setting Items: 8 plates, 8 3/4 in. dia., 2 Stanley, 6 Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 1 Alcock plate has a lightened and fuzzy blue transfer. 8 plates, 6 1/2 in. dia., all Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 8 bowls, 5 1/2 in. dia., all Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 8 saucers, 6 in. dia., 7 Alcock, 1 Stanley. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 8 cups, 4 in. rim dia. with flared rim and scalloped foot. Unmarked. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 8 crescent bowls, 6 in. x 3 3/4 in., all Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 8 individual butter pats, 3 3/8 in. dia. Unmarked. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. These rare pieces show the most foxing. Serving Pieces: 1 shallow serving bowl, 7 1/2 in. dia., Stanley. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks, excepting 90% loss to the gold trim on rim. 1 handled serving bowl, 9 1/2 in. dia., Stanley. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 1 oval serving bowl, 9 in. long, unmarked. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 1 oval serving bowl, 10 in. long, Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks, but with foxing. 1 oval serving boat, 8 5/8 in. long x 4 5/8 in. wide, unmarked. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks, with minor foxing. 1 oval platter, 10 1/2 in. long x 7 in. wide, Stanley. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 2 oval platters, 12 1/2 in. long x 9 in. wide, 1 Alcock, 1 Stanley. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 1 gravy boat, 8 1/2 in. spout to handle. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. 1 handled, footed and covered oval vegetable serving bowl, 12 in. handle to handle x 7 1/2 in. across x 5 1/2 in. to top of finial, Alcock. Condition: Excellent with no chips or cracks. Mark: Made in England. Marked either with the Henry Alcock logo or the Stanley Pottery logo. Some unmarked as noted. Color: Deep blue on a white base Condition: Very good to excellent. Excellent does not necessarily mean perfect, but it means remarkable for the age. This was inexpensive, every day china. All have some crazing consistent with age. Some could have minor usage marks. Some have minor foxing. All old pieces of ironstone exhibit differing degrees of the blue coloring and the sharpness of the pattern. This is to be expected and is part of the charm. Shipping. 45 lbs packed. I am going to overcharge on the shipping and handling, then correct it when the invoice is sent. It will be up to me how many boxes to pack this one of a kind set in in order to protect it in shipping. The buyer is responsible for my cost of the boxes and extra packing materials necessary to protect this set. Each box will require insurance.
