Thesewonderful antique earrings are from the Oaxacan tradition, with delicate filigree, pearls of various shapes and sizes and faceted prong-set round ruby glass stones. The pearls are wired to the earrings with gold wire. Although unmarked, most earrings of this vintage were done in 10K yellow gold. The earrings have beautiful swirls of filigree, leaves and stems. They consist of three sections - a top circular section, with seed pearls and glass ruby, a middle section of detailed gold leaves, stems and river pearls, and a bottom circular section like the top but slightly bigger. The ruby stones are in great shape - no chips or scratches. The filigree is perfect. I can't tell if there is a missing seed pearl on the top because of the design, but if there is, it is not noticeable. For pierced ears, the earrings have secure hook and clasp backs. They measure 2 1/4 inches from the top of the ear wire by 11/16 inch at the widest point. They are not heavy on the ear and weigh a total of 8.9 grams.
