Up for auction is one mid 1800's Sheffield wood brace drill. It has a beech wood body, rosewood head and a brass neck. The drill is a total of 14 1/2 inches long. T are no missing parts. The spring bit locking mechanism works well. The soft steel screws have not been removed since new. It has not seen a restoration attempt. All the patina is intact. T is one small check in the wood w the neck attaches to the wood body and that's it. T is a maker's stamp but all I can make out is R.G. something and Son's Sheffield. Ideal for that woodworking tool collection. In untouched condition. T are some paint spatters on the body and one paint run on the head. This one is an ideal candidate for TLC in the way of a good cleaning and some fresh waxing. I included lots of pictures so don't be fooled by the dust and brass oxidation. This one is a gem beneath the neglect for those that like to find their antique tools unmolested. I was tempted to keep this one and freshen it up, but I already have about 20 drills and would like to thin out just a little. Packaging and shipping to the U.S. and Canada is $25.00.
