Wood Horn Handle Ghurka Khukuri kukuri in carbon steel The Gurkhas, on of the most successful mercenary groups the world has ever seen, have brought fame to this knife, their traditional weapon of choice: the Khukuri. Not only is this a formidable weapon, but it is also a knife-of-all-work, serving to chop wood, slice vegetables, skin animals, cut grass, etc. This is a slightly smaller than normal Khukuri of classic pattern, with beautiful solid brass touches such as a brass lion for a pommel. It is a smaller and more portable 12" overall. The blade is Carbon steel, 8" long and 1/4 inch thick at the back edge. The handle is of brown carved wood. The sheath is a nice heavy black leather over wood with a brass "toe" and loops with rivetes for strenght to attach to a belt. It has the two traditional small knives with matching wood handles that are more roughly cut than the khukuri, the Karda and Chakmak, and sleeves in the sheath to hold them. Both small knives have a brass cap to match the brass pommel on the Khukuri. All knives are not sharp as shipped but can be sharpened. New, no problems.
