Hello and welcome. Up for consideration is this vintage WOODSTOCK The Movie booklet. With 48 pages, it shows different happenings at the famous outdoor concert. With an anticipated 50,000 people, the beatniks, hippies, flower children flocked to Bethel, NY to the tune of 500,000 with 1 million turned away. Festival goers to the August 15-18 were against the Vietnam War and made that weekend the 3rd largest city in New York. 5 inches of rain in 3 hours also made it a mudfest. Now about the music...John Lennon wanted to perform, but was in Canada and US refused him an entry visa. Jimi Hendrix, The Star-Spangled Banner is considered the greatest single moment in the history of the 1960's music scene. Joni Mitchell was dating Graham Nash and was persuaded by her manger to not attend, but to go on the Dick Cavett show. She watched the festival on tv with tears running down her face. 32 bands were scheduled. Iron Butterfly missed it because they couldn't get there. Melanie failed to get a performers pass, so she sang Beautiful People to security to get back stage. And on & on & on. Please refer to the pictures for the visual details.
