It is a workshop carpet woven by a Master Weaving House in the Northern Mountainous Regions of Afghanistan. This is a beautifully woven carpet, extra heavy duty and suitable for commercial purposes. Tribal rugs of this quality and size are saught after. Rich earthy jewel like colours. A lovely dense weave sure to last generations. This Hatchli Design rug has been used for generations as a traditional 'Dowry' Item exchanged during an Afghan marriage ceremony. There are numerous 'Boteh' or Fertility Symbols in the field and border. The warp and wefts have been finished in an unusual braided fashion It is a recent strong and fine weave and is in excellent brand new condition.
