A complete set of 12 deluxe hard cover printings from the Review of Reviews Company in good-very good condition with no marks, no dust jackets as issued and very minor edge wear. The set is undated, but likely from about 1920. It includes: When a Man Marries, The Window At the White Cat, Love Stories, The Man in Lower Ten, Dangerous Days, The Circular Staircase with torn front free endpaper, Bab: A Sub-Deb, A Poor Wise Man, Affinities, More Tish, 231/2 Hours Leave, Sight Unseen , The Confession and The Amazing Interlude. Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876-1958) was often called the American Agatha Christie. One of her books is considered to be the source of the phrase "the butler did it". She is considered to have invented the "Had-I-But-Known" school of mystery writing. She also created a costumed super-criminal called "the Bat," who was cited by Bob Kane as one of the inspirations for Batman. Shipping and handling is free in US with others paying actual costs.
