WORLD FAMOUS MOVIE ACTRESS POSTCARDS COLLECTION PRINTED IN WESTEN GERMANY PHOTO: BERNARD OF HOLLYWOOD (FOR SORAYA) UNUSED & NOT NEW PRINTING Rossana Podest� (born 20 June 1934 in Tripoli ) is a former Italian actress . She was born in the Italian colony of Libya , w she spent her first years in Tripoli and later moved to Rome after World War II . She still lives in Italy , in Dubino ( Sondrio province ), together with the famous mountain climber , explorer and journalist Walter Bonatti . Podest� 's most memorable role was as Helen in Helen of Troy , produced by Robert Wise in 1956. She could not speak English so she learned her lines by rote with a voice coach . The movie gave Podest� international exposure, and she performed alongside a young Brigitte Bardot . Podest� also worked in the movie Ulisse , directed by Mario Camerini , and in the sixties and seventies she acted in some romantic movies, including Paolo il caldo and Il prete sposato . Her last performance was in 1985's Segreti segreti , directed by Giuseppe Bertolucci . She married and then divorced movie producer Marco Vicario . Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiari ( Persian : ثریا اسفندیاری بختیاری , UniPers : Sorayâ Asfandiyâri-Bakhtiyâri ) (22 June 1932 – 26 October 2001) was the second wife and Queen Consort of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , the late Shah of Iran . Though her husband's title, Shahanshah (King of Kings), is the equivalent of Emperor, it was not until 1967 that a complementary feminine title, Shahbanu or Shahbanou , was created to designate the wife of a Shah. Until then, wives of Shahs, including Soraya, bore the title Malake , though in the popular press they frequently and incorrectly were called Empress. Granted the style and title Her Imperial Highness Princess Soraya of Iran , the former queen moved to France . Princess Soraya launched a brief career as a film actress, for which she used only her first name. Initially, it was announced that she would portray Catherine the Great in a movie about the Russian empress by Dino De Laurentiis , but that project fell through. Instead, she starred in the 1965 movie I tre volti ( The Three Faces ) and became the companion of its Italian director, Franco Indovina (1932–1972). She also appeared as a character named Soraya in the 1965 movie She . After Indovina's death in a plane crash, she spent the remainder of her life in Europe, succumbing to depression, which she outlined in her 1991 memoir, Le Palais Des Solitudes (The Palace of Loneliness). Aliza Gur (born as Alizia Gross , 1 April 1944, Ramat Gan) was Miss Israel of 1960 and a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe pageant that same year. Her parents had fled Germany during Hitler's reign and settled in the British Mandate of Palestine , w she and her brother were born. Her television credits include guest appearances on Get Smart (1965), The Wild Wild West (1965), The Big Valley (1965), and several other shows. Cinema credits include From Russia with Love (1963) and Agent for H.A.R.M. (1966). Her most famous role was as one of two fighting Gypsies in From Russia with Love (she wears a red top, was Martine Beswick , the other woman, wears a green top). Aliza Gur continues to receives fan mail relating to this scene. The female lead in the film, Daniela Bianchi , had been Gur's roommate at the 1960 Miss Universe pageant and placed second in the competition. Elke Sommer (born 5 November 1940), born Elke Schletz , is a German-born actress, entertainer and artist . Sommer was born in Berlin to a Lutheran minister and his wife. After World War II , the family was evacuated to Erlangen , a small university town in Southern Germany , w, despite their lack of money, she attended the prestigious Gymnasium (high school) in Erlangen.
