NOT available for delivery until april 7th .Shenandoah Valley Heritage endures with this Heirloom Quality Virgin Wormy Chestnut TABLE made From Antique Reclaimed Virgin and Wormy Chestnut. The table top consists of Unique and Beautiful premium Virgin Chestnut while legs and aprons are made of wormy Chestnut (not virgin). The Table was built by Reclaimed Innovations a small family business located close to Lexington,VA. The table is made with all antique reclaimed wood, the top consists of three very rare wide planks that are full of character. The table is constructed with real mortise and tenon joinery and peggs extend through tenons into the legs. The bread boards are crafted traditionally tongue and groove),slots in the tongue are pegged and allow for seasonal wood movement. The Legs are lightly tapered on the two insides. This NEW table was carefully handcrafted in Aug. 2010 and is currently in our studio. The Aprons are also 7/8" thick to add strength to the base. The table has a smooth to touch finish. 6 coats hand rubbed finish (Tongue oil with resin hardeners) resistant to hot/cold water, alcohol, common household acids etc.) Please see pictures for look and character of table. The top has been sealed and knot holes,worm holes, worm scarring etc. are filled with an Aero/Marine epoxy for longevity and beauty. We use some of the best quality materials and crafting available. Legs* Two sides tapered made from reclaimed chestnut ☺ Made from matching 2 piece glue ups ☺ 3 1/16 inches square legs tapers to 2 inches at bottom / light taper * 53 1/2 inches between legs sides and 24 1/2inches between legs on ends (aprox.) Apron Boards* : Long aprons are made from quarter sawn to rift sawn for strength and matching aesthetics. ☺ 7/8+ inch thick ☺ 4 inches wide Rounded beaded edge 24 1/2" clearance from floor to bottom of Apron. General and Finishing: Constructed with Reclaimed wormy chestnut and Virgin wormy chestnut planks. Table made with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and round pegged. Finish 6 coats of Waterlox hand rubbed (smooth to the touch) finish, satin sheen. Resistant to common household chemicals, alcoholic beverages, boiling water, etc. Absulutely NO white rings!
