You are viewing an ultra-rare piece of porcelain, a Royal Dux Art Nouveau figurine . To have such a piece come to the store is a real treat. A man brings us his grandmothers collection of Japanese plates, collectibles and this Royal Dux piece, all of which will be listed today on ebay. I had no idea what this Dux piece was, until l I looked it up and read about it. There aren't any on Ebay USA at this time or in completed listings. There is a wonderful Deco Tango Girl on ebay from another seller for over a thousand dollars standing alone single. This Dancing Tango piece is porcelain and from what I've read very collectible and highly sought-after. Not very many of them were made and they usually end up at high-end estate auctions. The only similar piece I found listed on five different auctions sites I googled, was at a public auction in Norwich, United Kingdom and was reserved for thousands of pounds UK, converted to USD means this is an expensive, collectible piece in deed. It would make a great piece to bring to a high-end auction to see what it pulls. Since I do not know very much about antique porcelain, we agreed to list it with a low reserve or you can opt to buy it now for $2300. I will however take lots of photos of it to show you as much as I can in the details. Although I wanted to wipe it down and take off the smudges of dirt and dust from being in her collection for 90 years, I did not. I feel the piece will come very clean under the right cleaning agents and cloths, so the pictures will tell more of a story of how the piece looks than I can write here. I did not see one chip, crack or anything that looks damaged. All the proper markings are on the bottom. See the 45 pictures. For a company like Royal Dux in the 1920's to create something this extravagant out of porcelain and painted so vibrantly is truly amazing. The rarity of these pieces comes about because of WWII, when buildings and records were destroyed. History & Description The company was founded in 1853 but its name changed to E. Eichler Thonwaren-Fabrik in 1860 when it was acquired by Eduard Eichler, a successful model-drawer.
