This is a superb example of the Wrenn W2242 "City of Liverpool" 4-6-2 Princess Coronation Class Locomotive in LMS Red, running number 6247. Introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in late Period 3, just over 2000 were recorded in production, however from what I have seen over the years as a collector I believe the figures are far lower than this. Comes complete with late Period 3 box, tissue, packing rings, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit and blue Instruction Manual. The underneath of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 6" and has the familiar sellotape residue marks denoting the period.Has been fully tested on Wrenn/Lima/Hornby/Peco Streamline track under Gaugemaster 100 Control and performed well. This Locomotive has seen little layout use, you will not be disappointed. Locomotive/tender are "near mint to mint", box is "excellent" considering their age. Any queries to the Wrenn Specialist.
