This auction is for a very rare, reproduction WW2 Royal Navy WRNS Wren Third officers tropical uniform including the hat. These uniforms were worn by Wrens on tropical service around the Mediterranean, Africa, India and Far East during the war. It is the later style that came in after 1942 replacing the single piece cotton dress. It can be seen worn by a Wren Officer on the right in the original wartime b/w picture. It consists of a WRNS officers style reproduction tropical sevice hat with black mohair band and King's crown WRNS King's crown cap badge. This hat is made by Kangol and is a fine sisal construction. It is size 57cm or 7. I have only once seen an original for sale, which sold for over £400, and as far as I know there are no other reproductions available. A white open neck short sleeve blouse with detachable Women's Royal Naval Service third officers shoulder boards. These have original gilt brass officers Kings crown buttons on them. Size up to 38" bust. A white skirt. This is a genuine Royal Navy WRNS officers skirt with two front pleats, which closely resembles the wartime tropical skirt used by the WRNS.
