WW1 Avro 504K Royal Flying Corps RFC Propeller from Crashed Aircraft Rare Avro 504K propeller Marked on one side with: Y503 110 HP LE RHONE Type 504K G519N26 DIA 2744 PITCH 2655 and on the other side: 51926 The propeller has been worked on (in the dim and distant past) and one stub has been removed, perhaps to enable it to stand up straight as the case for a clock....your guess is as good as mine ! The key feature of the 504K was its universal engine mount, designed by H. E. Broadsmith, permitting a wide variety of rotary engines to be installed, including the 110-hp Le Rhône. At the peak of wartime production, Avro planned on building 100 per week, as well as 20 sets of parts for assembly in Egypt.
