A WW1 British War Medal awarded to Helias Proethros, Merchant Navy, for service in the First World War. Helias Proethros was born in Salonica, Greece, and served in the Merchant Navy in the First World War. An internet seach of the London Gazette archive shows that he became a British citizen in 1936. He died in 1955 in Cardiff. Worthy of further research. The medal has some edge knocks but the naming is perfectly legible. Also there are traces of glue on the back (see photo). This ought to clean off with acetone or alcohol. The medals I sell are guaranteed to be original and genuine. I do not sell copies or reproductions. The medal in the picture is the actual item you are bidding on. I do not use stock photos but always photograph the medal I am selling so you can check the condition yourself and . I am always happy to combine postage on multiple wins so have a look at some of my other items for sale. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck with the bidding.
