Stunning WW1 photographic album For sale is a wonderful original ww1 photographic “Craftsman”album, compiled, my guess is by a nurse working at the Ilkley Auxiliary Military Hospital. The album measures 26cm X 31cm. The album itself is in reasonable condition. The front and back covers are loose and are retained by the original period cord. The edges are somewhat knocked. However, internally the contents are in fine condition. Most of the photographic images are in excellent condition and retain their clarity and some of the photographs are stunning. I have comprehensively described the contents to the best of my ability, when you consider it is somewhat hard to read the writing of the “day”. Hence, some of the names I have deciphered may be incorrect. There are a number of WW1 subjects covered: · The Manchester City battalions. · A Victoria Cross winner · A Royal Red Cross recipient · 9th Battalion of the Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment · The Reverend and Chaplain to the Forces William Duncan Geare – Killed in Action Tuesday 31 st July 1917 whilst tending the wounded on the Ypres salient. · An much more The Album deserves to be retained in its completed form, albeit it covers many different WW1 topics of interest.
