I am unable to identify if this helmet is from WW1 or WW2 and I am not an expert but if you have questions, please ask and I will try to answer. Along the inside edge, it is clearly marked "U.S. GOVT PROPERTY" and below that t are three letters which are either OCD or OOD. This helmet is smooth steel and brown in color. Measures 13" X 12". Also, please check out my other vintage items as I will combine to save on shipping charges. I ship priority with tracking number. Thanks for looking
