This is a WW1 Original U.S. Army Map of the Souissons area in France. The map measures approx. 33 x 43 inches, and is in fair condition. The top center is marked "Souissons (Laon)", and the top right corner is marked "33". The bottom left is marked "Levee par les Officiers du Corps d'etat-Major, et publiee par le Depot de la Guerre en 1832 Revisee en 1912", and the bottom right is marked "Gravee : le trait par Thullier, la lettre par Hacq, le figure du terrain par Hennequin R-13-4-17. Marked on outside of map is "33 Souissons". There are minor tears in creases at folds and around the edges indicating normal wear from use. I received this map about 30 years ago with other items from the estate of Lt. William H. Wright who was an Intelligence Officer with the168th Infantry of the 42nd Rainbow Division on the staff of then Colonel (later 4 star General in WW2) Douglas MacArthur in France during WW1. Lt. Wright is standing to Col. MacArthur's left in first photo and far right in second photo with newspaper article and photo below.
