WW1 Trench Art - Army Veterinary Corps desk pen holder, with nib pen/letter opener Opportunity to own a Great War Trench Art aluminium made desk pen holder in the shape of a horseshoe (memory of the horses and mules which served in the Great War, and the men who cared for them and other animals). The horseshoe has been carefully crafted to incorporate the Capital Initials of the Army Veterinary Corps - "A V C" With this holder comes a rarer aluminium ink-dip pen holder - still with an attached brass nib insert into which to insert a nib (if so desired !) to complete it.....The flattened end was intended to use as a letter opener, so it is a 2-in-1 tool. This measures appx. 20cm long. The horseshoe stands appx. 9.5cm high, and it has a fixed stand to its rear, with a reach of appx. 14cm. for it to stand flat. This is a very good display item from an historic period, and will enhance and add value to any militaria or writing collection.
