Original WW1 / World War 1 / World War I Full-sized British War Medal to "57337 PTE. N. WALKER. W. YORK. R." Private Norman WALKER Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire) Regiment. With original ribbon, curiously a mix of stitched and glued to achieve the short length shown.Medal and ribbon are very clear but with marks of age. Please use the photographs in deciding to bid. With research shown.Private WALKER served with the territorial Battalion the 2nd / 5th West Yorkshire Regiment which was formed at York on 28th September 1914. The Battalion landed at Le Havre in January 1917 and was disbanded in France on 13th August 1918.I see from the War Diary that WALKER was one of those distributed to other York Battalions and was renumbered 55759 2nd / 4th (Hallamshire) Battalion of the York and Lancaster Regiment. He survived the war and was initially transferred to Class "Z" wartime reserve International bidders - the postage cost you see is generated by the ebay Global Shipping Programme which I can't see or influence. Please remember to check the postage cost before bidding.UK bidders - my p&p costs are the Royal Mail cost + 20p packing cost plus 10% that ebay charges on the whole value of the bid and therefore would otherwise eat 10% from the cost of posting. I do not want to make money from postal charges, just recover them. Many thanks.
