WW11 SPANISH Z42 HELMET " BLUE DIVISION " This Z42 Helmet which is in very fine condition, having the Raw Edge ; should not be mistaken for the later produced model Z42/79 of which is very similar. These Helmets manufactured in 1942 & worn by " Spanish Volunteers whom served with the German Army " officially designated as Division Espanola de Voluntairos by the Spanish Army & 250. Infantarie - Division in the German Army. These Soldiers then found themselves fighting along the Eastern Front during WW11. When the Spanish Goverment ordered all Spanish Soldiers to return to Spain in late 43, many men stayed behind around 3000 of these many joined the Waffen SS & others filtered into other German Units. The Helmet is in very good condition for age, with a few marks as you would expect from a used helmet of this age, complete with fixing plate for Insignia to Front,the Leather Liner Band & the 3 twinned Leather Fingers making up the main Lining are also all in good condition & supported correctly, though a little dry in places all leather is still flexible. The Chin Strap is complete with Roller Buckle & again in good condition & just begining to show cracking on outer surface. I would advise new owner to just give leather a little treatment with Saddle Soap to bring back to it's former glory..As i have owned this Helmet for several
