This auction is for a 1940 pattern battledress blouse, dated 1942. There is also an inked date on the label which is difficult to make out but "FEB" can be seen as the month however the year isn't clear although it looks like 1942 or 1943. Finally there is another inked word across the label and this reads "WYCOMBE" in black block capitals. The label reads "battledress blouse, 1940 pattern. Size 10 (with sizes visible) and also the words "THE REGO CLOTHIERS LTD 1942". Label is clear as you can see from picture 3 accompanying this auction. On both arms there are a set of embroidered ROYAL ARTILLERY titles, the airborne embroidered square patch and the title AIRBORNE also embroidered. Picture 1 shows the right arm and there is also a small badge at the bottom of the sleeve which can be seen on pic 4 of a glider? I am not 100% sure what this means but I am sure someone will tell me. On both arms, the stitching is starting to come off some of the badges but all badges are embroidered and not cloth. I purchased this item from a collector around 5 years ago along with other WW2 para stuff. As far as I know this is a completely genuine item from 1942 era. There are no moth holes anywhere and all buttons are present. It is a lovely blouse in fantastic condition and all that needs doing is re-stitching the badges. Please feel free to ask read more
