This is a limited edition, giclee print called "The Fighters of JG5". The print was produced by aviation artist John R. Doughty, Jr. This print is signed by Bf 109 Fighter Pilot Kurt Schulze, who flew the Bf 109 depicted, "Yellow 5", and Focke Wulf Fw-190 Fighter Pilot Heinz Orlowski, who flew the Fw-190 depicted, "White 1", when they were assigned to JG5. Only 25 of these prints were produced! The prints were signed by Kurt Schulze and Heinz Orlowski on November 15, 2006. This is print number 4/25! A rare combination of aircraft and signatures from the same Luftwaffe squadron!Kurt Schulze flew six long distance reconnaissance missions as a wireless operator with 3(F)11 in the Messerschmitt Me110C, and 23 missions as a navigator in the Donier Do-217. He later flew the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 "Yellow 5" when he was assigned to JG5 in Petsamo, Finland, and had 3 air-to-air victories. At the end of the war he was in charge of 1/JG51, and then 13/JG5. He flew a total of 103 missions. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class, Pilot/Observation Badge, and Flight Clasp. Heinz Orlowski began flight training in 1942, and had experience flying several different aircraft, including the Arado Ar. 96, Klemm KI 35, and Focke Wulf Fw56.
