auction for old WW2 aviator goggles+helmet ---- old goggles set from 30- 60s-never used 100% vintage and originall or money back WW2 RED PILOT SET-GOGGLES+HELMET similar GERMAN WW2 are pictures of the leather flight helmet design that appeared sometime in late 1920s or early 1930s. Compared to the early 1920s helmet shown on this site, this helmet is made out of a thicker leather and has small leather straps on the back to hold goggles in place. Openings on the chin strap no longer have metal rings around them and openings under ear flaps are hand punctured. Helmets of similar designs will stay in service with Soviet military pilots all the way until the first years of WW2 before being finaly replaced by helmets with installed earphones. are the pictures of Soviet mid- to late-1930 flight goggles design that became very widespread by 1940s and almost all pictures of Soviet WW2 pilots show them wearing this type of goggles. While pictures below should be enough to help collectors, I would like to place a small warning It became rather widespread in the last couple of years to sell post WW2 goggles that have somewhat similar appereance as genuine WW2 flight goggles. They differ from the goggles shown below in a couple of small details. First of all they do not have small metal air channels on top outer sides of goggle frames. read more
