JAPANESE shin-gunto SWORD Type 95 (NCOs) DETAILS TOTAL LENGTH 97cm BLADE LENGTH 65cm NCO shin-gunto SWORD Type 95 (NCOs) The army enacted the new government supply Gunto for non-commissioned officers ( a sergeant major,a staff sergeant,and sergeant) in Emperor calendar,They are the succeeding gunto of an establishment army Type 32. BLADE: Army Arsenal Factory made (the serial numbers on blade №67885). SCABBARD: NCO shin-gunto,non-commissioned officers sword.Middle type side stopper: the three circles stamped on the habaki symbol of Army Arsenal Tokyo(Kokura)Factory ,MATCHED arsenal number №09690 on the Iron scabbard (see pictures) . Middle type: Tokyo First(Kokura) Army Arsenal made(blade No.97538 inspection mark, full length: 97 cm).Plain blackened iron Guard(Tsuba). Blackened iron Ferrule(Fuchi). Blackened washers(Seppa). TSUKA: The metal hilt (Tsuka) made to resemble the traditionally cloth wrapped shin-gunto swords. Brass aoi-shaped guard (Tsuba). this is the common shape of tsuba four lobed (mokko) which is the largest fitting of a sword, is used to protect hand from sliding onto the blade.
