Up for auction is a stunning and pristine example of a vintage WW2 M1 Or as some refer to it the M1942 helmet. Let me be clear; this is not a reproduction or a restoration. Both liner (1945 stamping shown) and steel pot (swivel bail rear seam rim) are included in this auction. All straps are present, intact, soft, supple, and unstained. This helmet was in dehumidified storage at the US Navy's Philadelphia reserve basin storage facility until 2007 when I acquired it through the surplus property disposal department now closed. Liner has minor scuffs from storage. Finish on steel pot is of the heavy grit type. I personally guarantee WW2 vintage. This is an opportunity not likely to come again.
