Up for auction is this United States Navy Office of Naval Intelligence manual entitled ONI 41-42 JAPANESE NAVAL VESSELS - DIVISION OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE - IDENTIFICATION AND CHARACTERISTICS SECTION. This huge manual is about 1 inch thick and is printed on glossy/heavy paper. The mainpart of the manual is dated November 9 1942 but t are many pages dated Dec 42 and June, July and August 1943. Included in themanual are all the Carriers, Battleships, Heavy and Light Cruisers and Destroyers used by the Japanese Navy at the time. Each ship is covered as follows: page 1 is a top and side view with specs, page 2 - 3 consists of views from different elevations and angles as seen from aircraft, page 4 - 5 consists of views of different angles as seen from a ship, and page 6 consists of photos and facts. Other sections cover Submarines, Gunboats, Sub Chasers, Mine Layers, Coast Defence ships, Training Vessels, Landing Craft, Supply ships, Hospital ships and so on. A very extensive manual. T is some staining at the bottom of some pages but only a few and it dones not interfere with the text. The stringbound manual is still tight and the pages look (and smell) great. Email any ?
