Genuine, authentic, original hand signed photograph card of Heer General der Panzertruppe Hasso von Manteuffel.Manteuffel was a highly decorated German Army tank troop division and army commander during WW2.During WW2, Manteuffel was best known as commander of the 7th Panzer Division in Operation Barbarossa, the 5th Panzer Army in North Africa Tunisia Campaign, then the Panzer Grenadier Division Grossdeutschland in the East, then the 5th Panzer Army in the Battle of the Bulge, and defense of the Seelow Heights in the infamous Battle of Berlin..Because of his extreme personal bravery and successful military leadership in combat, Manteuffel was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds...one of only 27 soldiers to be so honored during the War! And he was mentioned 4 times in the Wehrmachtbericht!!!The color photograph shows Manteuffel as a Panzer General, and on the reverse side he has typed (probably himself) "Too few postage! Best personal regards Yours" and then signed his name boldly in blue fountain pen ink, and then typed "Address absolutely illegible! Jan. 15, 1976" with his name and rank as General Panzertruppe a.D. printed, with his home address. The foto card is in very good/fine condition.I have been a member of the Manuscript Society since 1956 and am selling part of my collection. read more
