WW2 RAF leather jerkin with 5 RAF black bakelite/plastic buttons ( 2 buttons missing).Buttons are on rings to slot through the hole as shown. Hand stitched buttonholes. Marked as size2 – it measures 42 ins at underarm The leather is in soft flexible condition – it has always been kept inside( it is a family item). There are no nasty rips or holes – there is an ink mark on the inside – I think perhaps to cross out name of previous owner, and a small surface split ( about 1 inch) on the lower back but it doesn’t go right through. Also a small split in the stitching at back neckline Stamped information on inside ( see photo)not easy to read – there is a 2, NHS in a diamond shape, and something else I can’t work out.
