WW2 RAF Pilot Navigational Computor 'M k III D' Ref No. 6B/180 I.C.A.N. CalibrationAir M inestry Up for auction is a rare find, especially in such good condit ion , a used WW 2 RAF Pilot N av C om with it's original cardboard box. It's used to make altitude and air speed corrections. The instrument is a DeadReckoning computer in a box with a hinged cover. On the cover is a height and air speed computer calibrated to the ICAN system. The main instrument has a translucent plotting disk with a "fan diagram" visible under the translucent disk. The instrument is used to solve vector triangles. The notebook has provision for details of the flight with columns for time , observation and airspeed. The Navigational Computor was designed for attaching to the navigators leg. The straps are original and has not lost it 's elasticity. Part of the Bakelite surrounding the pen holder has broken of, which is seen o n all these N av Com who have been in u se, due to smashing against the cockpit. As you can see from the pictures added below, it's in good visual shape considering it's age . Take a good look at the pictures before bidding, items are sold 'as is'.
