This is a WW2 Bancroft Zephyr U S Navy Officers named personalized cap. The owner was a Lt Commander. It is the early Zephyr with the cane weave band. The cap is in nice condition with no rips or tears to the material there is some stitching lose on the border of the peak. This cap belonged to Lt Commander Walter George Miete. He served in WW2 Korea and Viet Nam. His last vessel was the USS Tarawa.This would be a wonderful piece to add to any collection.Thanks for looking.
